Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital (SGMH), Delhi has announced SGMH Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 for 52 Senior Resident Doctor posts in various medical specialties.
Eligible candidates with MBBS and relevant PG Degree/Diploma/DNB can attend the walk-in interview on 24 September 2026. The appointment will initially be on an ad-hoc basis for 89 days or until regular candidates join, whichever is earlier.
EXPERIENCE / ELIGIBILITY IMPORTANT: Candidates must have the prescribed medical qualification and Delhi Medical Council registration. In specified shortage specialties, eligible non-PG candidates with 2 years of relevant experience may also be considered on an ad-hoc basis.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates should generally have:
- MBBS from a recognised university/institution.
- PG Degree, Diploma or DNB in the concerned specialty.
- Valid Delhi Medical Council registration.
Candidates who have applied for Delhi Medical Council registration may produce proof of application at the interview, as permitted by the notification.
Non-PG Candidates
In shortage specialties such as Radiology, Anaesthesia and Forensic Medicine, candidates with 2 years of experience in the concerned specialty may be considered even without a PG qualification, subject to the prescribed conditions.
Senior Residency Experience
Candidates who have already completed three years of Senior Residency may be considered in specified shortage situations when fresh eligible candidates are unavailable. Such candidates are considered separately as per the notification.
IMPORTANT: Candidates must not have completed three years of Senior Residency in any recognised institution on a regular/ad-hoc basis unless they fall under the specific shortage-category provisions.
Age Limit
The age is calculated as on 24 September 2026.
- General: Maximum 45 years
- OBC: 3 years relaxation
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
- PwD: Additional relaxation as applicable
Salary
Selected Senior Residents will receive ₹67,700 to ₹2,08,700 under Pay Matrix Level 11 of the 7th CPC, along with applicable government allowances.
