Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi has released the JMI Teaching Recruitment 2026 notification for 46 teaching posts, including Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Principal and Head of Section.

Eligibility Criteria

Professor

Candidates generally require a Ph.D., first-class qualification at Bachelor’s or Master’s level and relevant teaching, research or industry experience. Engineering Professor posts require 10 years of experience, including prescribed Associate Professor-level experience.

Associate Professor

A relevant Ph.D., first-class qualification and required research publications are generally required. Candidates need around 8 years of teaching/research/industry experience, including prescribed post-Ph.D. experience.

Assistant Professor

Engineering posts require relevant B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S./Integrated M.Tech. with first class or equivalent in at least one degree. Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics posts generally require a Master’s degree with 55% marks and NET/SLET/SET or applicable exemption.

Principal & Head of Section

These senior Polytechnic posts require relevant qualifications along with substantial teaching, research or industry experience. Principal candidates may require 16–20 years, while Head of Section candidates may require 12–15 years, depending on the applicable qualification route.

All qualifications and experience are considered as on 6 October 2026.

Selection Process
