Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a Graduate degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the State Government.
Experience – Important
Experience is mandatory for this recruitment. Candidates must:
- Be serving members of the Bihar Home Guard Vahini.
- Have completed at least 5 years of service/duty.
- Have at least 10 years of remaining service as prescribed in the notification.
- Submit the required Home Guard service certificate.
Therefore, general candidates who are not serving Bihar Home Guards cannot apply for this recruitment.
Age Limit
The candidate’s age will be calculated as on 01 August 2026.
- Minimum Age: 24 Years
- Maximum Age: 50 Years
Physical Standards
- Men – General/BC: Minimum height 165 cm
- Men – EBC/SC/ST: Minimum height 160 cm
- Women: Minimum height 155 cm
- Men’s chest standards apply as per category.
- Women’s minimum weight: 48 kg
Selection Process
The selection process will include:
- Preliminary Written Examination
- Main Written Examination
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Medical, character and antecedent verification
The Preliminary Examination will be of 200 marks. Candidates qualifying for the Main Examination will be shortlisted as per the prescribed ratio.
The PET is qualifying in nature and includes running, high jump, long jump and shot put.
The final merit will mainly be prepared on the basis of Main Examination Paper 2 marks.
