Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a Miniratna Cat-1 subsidiary of Coal India Limited under the Ministry of Coal, has released Employment Notification No. 2026/69 for 444 posts of Mining Sirdar and Assistant Foreman (Trainee) (Electrical)/Electrical Supervisor. Eligibility Criteria

• Mining Sirdar: Valid Mining Sirdar Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS, valid Gas Testing Certificate, valid First-Aid Certificate, and 3 years’ experience in underground mines; OR a Diploma in Mining Engineering with the required statutory certificates.
• Assistant Foreman (Electrical)/Electrical Supervisor: Diploma (minimum 3-year course) in Electrical Engineering from a Government-recognised institute, plus a valid Electrical Supervisory Certificate for Mines.

Age Limit

Minimum Age: 18 Years  |  Maximum Age: 30 Years for UR/EWS as on 10 August 2026. Age relaxation: OBC (NCL) 3 years, SC/ST 5 years, PwBD 10–15 years, and Ex-Servicemen as per rules.

Application Fee

The fee must be paid online only and is non-refundable.

Salary / Pay Scale

Initial Basic Pay: ₹47,330.25 per month (NCWA XI) for both posts, plus Dearness Allowance, attendance bonus, HRA, transport subsidy and medical facility as admissible. Mining Sirdar has a 6-month probation; Assistant Foreman (Electrical) has a 2-year training period.

Selection Process

• Computer Based Test (CBT) — 100 questions (20 General Aptitude + 80 Technical), 90 minutes, no negative marking
• Document Scrutiny / Verification
• Medical Examination

Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS – 50, OBC (NCL) – 45, SC/ST – 40. Shortlisting for document verification is done for 3 times the number of vacancies in each category.
