ISRO SAC Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 48 JRF, RA & Project Scientist Posts

Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad, an important centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under the Department of Space, has released the SAC Recruitment 2026 notification for 48 temporary project-based posts.

The recruitment includes Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Research Associate (RA) and Project Scientist-I (PS-I) posts across 16 post codes in areas such as Electronics, VLSI, Physics, Atmospheric Science, Oceanography, Geophysics, Remote Sensing, GIS, Computer Science, Hydrology and more.

Eligible candidates can apply online from 10 September 2026 to 30 September 2026 through the SAC official website.

EXPERIENCE IMPORTANT: Experience is prescribed for certain Research Associate (RA) eligibility routes. For RA Post Code 08, candidates applying through the M.E./M.Tech route require 3 years of relevant research/teaching/design/development experience after M.E./M.Tech along with at least one SCI-listed journal paper. SAC Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Qualification is different for each post code.

  • JRF: Relevant M.E./M.Tech, M.Sc or B.E./B.Tech qualification depending on the discipline.
  • Research Associate: Ph.D in the relevant field or the prescribed M.E./M.Tech route with required research experience, depending on the post code.
  • Project Scientist-I: Relevant Ph.D or M.E./M.Tech qualification depending on the discipline.

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed minimum marks and subject-specialisation requirements.

JRF Additional Requirement

For JRF Post Codes 01–07, candidates must also have a valid qualifying national-level examination such as CSIR-UGC NET, GATE or other eligible national-level examinations mentioned in the notification.

Experience – Important

Experience is important for applicable Research Associate posts.

For RA Post Code 08, the M.E./M.Tech eligibility route requires:

  • 3 years of relevant research/teaching/design/development experience after M.E./M.Tech, and
  • At least one paper in an SCI-listed journal.

Other RA/PS-I posts have their own post-specific qualification and experience conditions. Candidates should check the official notification carefully.

Age Limit

  • JRF: Maximum 28 years
  • RA/PS-I: Maximum 35 years
  • Age relaxation is available to eligible categories as per Government of India rules.

Salary

The monthly fellowship/associateship is:

  • JRF: ₹37,000 for 1st & 2nd year; ₹42,000 for subsequent years + HRA
  • Research Associate: ₹58,000 – ₹67,000 + HRA, level-wise
  • Project Scientist-I: ₹56,000 + HRA

Selection Process

The selection process is based on shortlisting and personal interview.

If applications are large in number, SAC may shortlist candidates based on academic records and subject specialisation. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
