Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have either:
- B.Sc. Nursing with 50% marks, or
- GNM (A Grade Nursing Diploma) with 50% marks.
Candidates must also be registered with the Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council (HPNRC), Shimla.
Age Limit
The prescribed age is 21 to 45 years as on 1 January 2026. Applicable relaxation is available for eligible reserved categories and other candidates as per Himachal Pradesh Government rules.
Experience
No specific prior work experience is required for the Assistant Staff Nurse post. Candidates must, however, fulfil all prescribed educational and registration requirements.

The examination will cover nursing-related subjects along with General Knowledge, Himachal Pradesh GK, Current Affairs, Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English and General Hindi.
Minimum qualifying marks are 45% for General candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC/Wards of Freedom Fighters candidates, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.
