OSSSC Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 – Last Date Extended for 5989 Posts

Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has extended the application deadline for OSSSC Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026. A total of 5,989 Nursing Officer vacancies have been announced for District Cadre Group-C posts under the Health & Family Welfare Department, Odisha.

 LAST DATE EXTENDED: Candidates can now complete the online application process up to 16 August 2026. Candidates should complete both registration and application submission before the deadline.

Eligible candidates with GNM Diploma or B.Sc Nursing and valid Odisha Nursing Council registration can apply online through the official OSSSC website.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must:

• Pass 10+2 or equivalent.
• Possess GNM Diploma or B.Sc Nursing from a recognised institution.
• Have valid registration/renewal with the Odisha Nursing Council at the time of online application submission.
• Meet the prescribed Odia language requirement.

Age Limit

The basic age limit is 21 to 42 years. Relaxation is available for eligible reserved categories, women, PwD, ex-servicemen and other categories according to OSSSC rules.

Experience

No prior work experience is required for regular eligibility. However, contractual Nursing Officers may receive specific age relaxation if they meet the prescribed conditions.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on:

1. Written Test – 100 Marks
2. Provisional Master Merit List
3. Document Verification
4. Provisional Select List

The written examination consists of 100 MCQs for 100 marks with 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.

Salary

Selected Nursing Officers will receive ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 per month under Pay Matrix Level-8, Cell-01, along with applicable government allowances.
