The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has released the AAI SSCO Consultant Recruitment 2026 notification for 39 Consultant – SSCOs (Short Service Commission Officers) posts on a contractual basis.
The engagement is for retired Short Service Commission Officers of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and Indian Coast Guard to support Air Traffic Services at Joint User Defence Airfields. Eligible candidates can apply through email from 17 September 2026 to 1 October 2026.
EXPERIENCE IMPORTANT: Candidates must have at least 5 years of cumulative ATC experience, including minimum 1 year of ATC duties at a Joint User Defence Airfield.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:
- Be a retired Short Service Commission Officer of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard.
- Possess a Graduation degree in any discipline.
- Have the prescribed Basic ATC/ATM and AL/Basic and GCA/ATSS qualifications.
- Have minimum 5 years cumulative ATC duty experience.
- Have at least 1 year of ATC duty at a Joint User Defence Airfield.
- Be not more than 50 years old as on 1 October 2026.
- Have a retirement gap of not more than 6 years as prescribed in the notification.
Experience & ATC Qualification – Important
Experience is mandatory for this recruitment. Candidates without the prescribed ATC experience will not be eligible.
The selected consultants will support ATC/Surface Movement Control (SMC) operations, watch extension and other ATC-related duties at the assigned Joint User Defence Airfield.
AAI SSCO Consultant Remuneration
The consultant will receive a fixed monthly remuneration calculated as per applicable DoPT rules, generally based on the last basic pay drawn and pension. HRA is not admissible, while applicable transport-related provisions will follow the prescribed rules.
The initial contract is for 1 year, which may be extended subject to the conditions of the notification. The total engagement period cannot exceed 5 years or continue beyond the prescribed maximum age.
