Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfil the educational, age, typing and shorthand requirements prescribed for their selected post.
Educational Qualification
- Personal Assistant: Intermediate with Hindi shorthand speed of 80 WPM and Hindi typing speed of 4,000 key depressions per hour.
- Stenographer: Intermediate with prescribed Hindi and English shorthand and typing speeds.
- Stenographer Grade-3: Graduation with prescribed shorthand/typing skills and MS Office certificate.
- Stenographer Grade-2: Intermediate with English/Hindi stenography, MS Office knowledge and, where prescribed, relevant experience.
Experience is Important
Experience is not mandatory for every post, but it is an essential requirement for certain vacancies. In particular, the Stenographer Grade-2 post requires 3 years of relevant experience as specified in the notification. Candidates must check the post-wise experience requirement before applying.
Candidates must also satisfy the prescribed Uttarakhand domicile/employment registration or educational conditions applicable to these Group C posts.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of:
- Written Competitive Examination – 100 Marks
- Typing and Shorthand/Dictation Test – Qualifying
- Document Verification
The written examination is objective type and carries 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours. There is one-fourth negative marking for each wrong answer.
Candidates up to four times the number of vacancies may be shortlisted for the qualifying typing and shorthand test.
