Eligible male Indian citizens can apply online from 28 September 2026 to 28 October 2026, up to 11:59 PM through the official Assam Rifles website.
EXPERIENCE / TRADE SKILL IMPORTANT: Some posts, including Operation Theatre Technician, Physiotherapist and Mason, require prescribed work experience or trade experience. Candidates must carefully check the post-wise qualification before applying.
The recruitment process includes PST/PET, Documentation Verification, Computer Based Test, Trade Skill Test, Medical Examination and Merit List. The recruitment rally is tentatively scheduled to begin from 23 November 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Qualification varies according to the trade. Candidates may require:
- 10th/Matriculation
- 10+2/Intermediate
- ITI certificate
- 2/3-year Diploma
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Relevant technical or professional qualification
For example, the Warrant Officer (Cipher) post requires 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics and English along with the prescribed technical qualification or a relevant Bachelor’s Degree.
The Operation Theatre Technician and Physiotherapist posts require 10+2, the relevant diploma and at least 1 year of prescribed work experience.
The Mason post requires 10th pass along with the prescribed trade qualification and at least 1 year of trade experience through the required undertaking/self-certification.
Age Limit
- Rifleman/Havildar posts: Generally 18–23 years.
- Warrant Officer posts: Generally 18–25 years.
- Age is calculated as on 1 July 2026.
- Relaxation is available to eligible SC/ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and departmental candidates as per the recruitment rules.
Gender & Nationality
The notification specifies that the 18 trades are open to male candidates. Candidates must be Indian citizens.
Physical Standards
Candidates must qualify the prescribed physical standards. Generally, the requirements include height, chest and weight standards according to the candidate’s category/region.
The PET includes a 5 km run within 24 minutes for candidates other than the specified Ladakh Region category.
