Southern Railway, through the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Chennai, has released the Scouts and Guides Quota Recruitment 2026 notification for 17 posts under Employment Notice No. RRC-01/S&G/2026-27.
The vacancies are available at Level 1 and Level 2 under Southern Railway and Integral Coach Factory (ICF). Eligible candidates with the prescribed educational and Scouts & Guides qualifications can apply online from 19 September 2026 to 18 October 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Level 2: Candidates should have 12th qualification with the prescribed marks or relevant Matriculation + ITI/Act Apprenticeship qualification, as applicable.
Level 1: Candidates should have 10th pass, ITI, NAC or equivalent prescribed qualification.
Scouts & Guides Qualification
Candidates must generally:
- Be a President’s Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge holder.
- Have been an active member of a Scouts organisation for the last 5 years.
- Possess the prescribed Certificate of Activeness.
- Have attended 2 National/All Indian Railway level events.
- Have attended 2 State-level events.
EXPERIENCE / ELIGIBILITY IMPORTANT: There is no separate professional work-experience requirement, but the prescribed Scouts & Guides experience, certificates and event participation are mandatory.
Age Limit
Age is calculated as on 1 January 2027. The limits vary by level and category:
- Level 2: 18–30 years for UR, with applicable relaxation.
- Level 1: 18–33 years for UR, with applicable relaxation.
- Additional relaxations are available for eligible categories under Railway rules.
Application Fee
- ₹500: General category and other applicable candidates.
- ₹250: SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities and Economically Backward Classes.
- Refund is applicable to eligible candidates who appear in the examination, after applicable bank charges.
Selection Process
The selection carries 100 marks:
- Written/Hybrid Examination – 60 marks
- Scouts & Guides Certificates/Activities – 40 marks

- Medical Examination
The written examination contains objective and essay-type questions and includes 1/3 negative marking for incorrect objective answers.
