Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a recognized degree in an accepted discipline such as:
- Food Technology / Food Engineering
- Dairy Technology
- Biotechnology
- Agriculture / Agricultural Engineering
- Fisheries / Horticulture
- Food Nutrition and Dietetics
- Veterinary Sciences
- Biochemistry
- Microbiology
- Chemistry
- Medicine and other qualifications prescribed under the applicable rules.
Candidates must also satisfy the prescribed Hindi or Sanskrit qualification requirement.
Food Safety Training
Candidates must fulfil the Food Authority’s prescribed training requirement. The required training is to be completed after appointment as specified by the applicable rules.

EXPERIENCE / DOCUMENTATION IS IMPORTANT. Candidates claiming experience or age-relaxation benefits must upload valid certificates issued by the competent authority. Only documents submitted with the application will be considered for eligibility assessment.

Salary
Selected Food Safety Officers will receive:
Pay Level-6: ₹35,400 at Cell-1, corresponding to the prescribed ₹9,300–34,800 + ₹4,200 Grade Pay structure.
