Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed 10th standard or equivalent from a recognised board.
Candidates who have passed Graduation or an equivalent examination are not eligible.
Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Agniveer Eligibility
Applicants must meet the prescribed Ex-Servicemen/Ex-Agniveer conditions from the Army, Navy or Air Force. Candidates still serving may also be eligible if their Specific Period of Engagement is completed on or before 30 September 2026, as specified in the notification.
Tamil Language
Candidates must be able to speak, read and write Tamil.
Age Limit
The basic age limit is 18 to 26 years, with applicable relaxation for defence service and reserved categories as per IOB rules.
Experience – Important
Defence service eligibility is important for this recruitment. Candidates should carefully verify their service period, discharge conditions, character record and other Ex-Servicemen/Ex-Agniveer requirements before submitting the application.
Selection Process
The IOB Security Guard selection process consists of:
- Online Objective Test – 80 marks
- Tamil Language Test – 20 marks
- Physical Fitness Test – 100 marks
The Physical Fitness Test includes Push-Ups, Sit-Ups, 1 Km Run and Drill. Candidates must qualify in each prescribed physical test.
